Hutchinson in S6 return after leaving Cypriot club?

Rumours of a Hillsborough return for Sam Hutchinson increased today with the news that his contract at Cypriot team Pafos FC has been terminated by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old midfielder was released by Wednesday at the end of last season and he joined Pafos in September, making seven appearances during his time in Cyprus and including a game against former Wednesday team-mate Atdhe Nuhiu’s APOEL Nicosia … when Hutchinson was red-carded.

Tony Pulis would not be drawn into further conversation about Hutchinson when asked about whether he had any interest in bringing him back to Wednesday, following Saturday’s draw at Blackburn, but reports indicate this could happen in the January window.

Speaking about the transfer window, Pulis said: “We have a good squad of players but, without a shadow of a doubt, it needs to be improved. There have to be players that we bring in during the window but they need to be the right ones.

“They can’t just be players who will add to the group, they need to improve the squad and that’s what I will be talking to the chairman about.”
