Michael Hector has indicated he hopes to extend his stay at Wednesday.
Hector, on loan from Chelsea, was announced as the Wednesday Player of the Year at the Sheffield Star’s annual Football Awards on Monday evening and said on collecting his trophy: “I’ve enjoyed my time at Wednesday. Hopefully something gets sorted.”
The central defender, who was voted London Owls Player of the Season earlier in the month, still has a year of his contract to run at Stamford Bridge and Steve Bruce has said he would be delighted if he can keep the player at Hillsborough for next season.
