Green: I want to get out there and show what I can do

New signing Andre Green says he is ready to make his debut in our televised FA Cup tie at Everton on Sunday evening.

Winger Green, who joined us last week after being released by Villa in the summer, said: “I’ve trained with the lads a few times and I’m ready to go. When I haven’t been playing I’ve followed an intense programme at home and I feel fitter and hungrier than ever.

“I’ve kept up with the lads and really enjoyed the first few sessions. Football is all I know and I want to get out there and show what I can do.

“I feel fresh, fit and ready to go.”

Jack Marriott, who suffered a serious calf injury early on in his season-long loan at Hillsborough, has now returned to Wednesday and is also eligible to face Everton in the fourth round clash.

With the training ground reopened after the COVID-19 outbreak, Marriott said of his training back at Middlewood Road: “I’m feeling good, really good, I’m getting my sharpness back, which is important after a lengthy spell out. I’m back here now and feeling great and enjoying training and being back with the lads.

“I’m just focused on the second half of the season now and helping the club.”
