Gray: We’re in touching distance of top six

Stuart Gray is looking for Wednesday to pick up another three points at Forest on Saturday and continue our push towards the Championship play-off places.

He said: “We’re six points off the play-offs, we’ve got a great opportunity to go to Forest and get a win and push ourselves further up the league.”

Gray said we are within touching distance of the top six and he doesn’t want the team throwing away all the hard work of recent games.

He added: “It’s getting to the stage of the season where need to put points on in threes.

“This league is so wide open, it’s about being consistent and if we can do that then let’s see where it takes us.”

Keiren Westwood did light training today and should be fit to return after missing the Manchester City cup tie with a calf problem while Joe Mattock will also have a fitness test and long-time absentee Sam Hutchinson has been back in full training.

Back on the transfer front, Gray said he is stll hoping to bring Lewis McGugan back to Hillsborough from Watford for another loan spell and has Dutch forward Guyon Fernandez on trial at the club.

He added that, despite rumours, the club had received no approaches from Premier League clubs for either Westwood or Tom Lees.
