Stuart Gray hailed a battling performance from Wednesday in the 3-1 win at Millwall tonight and said the only slight negative was just failing to keep a clean sheet.
After seeing the Owls chalk up our first victory in eight games, he said: “It’s been a long time coming. We had to dig in during the early stages but after that I felt we controlled the game.”
Gray praised the team for the manner of the performance, adding: “I told the players before the game that you have got to be brave and want the ball here and that’s what they did.”
After expressing his disappointment at conceding the injury time Millwall goal, Gray said: “A big credit to Chris Kirkland as he hasn’t played a lot of football and he deserved a clean sheet.”
