Gray left frustrated after another home flop

Stuart Gray was left as frustrated as the 18,000 Wednesday fans after yet another poor home display on Tuesday evening.

Reflecting on a game that saw the Owls produce just one shot on target, Gray said: “The pitch isn’t the best but it’s the same for both teams. I want to get the ball down and play but unfortunately for players they are tensing up because the ball’s bouncing all over the place.

“However, when you do get in and get opportunities, you’ve got to be more clinical in front of goal.”

He added: “Our only real piece of quality in the first half was Jacques Maghoma’s chance which was a great bit of play.

“In the second half, it was a case of them defending deep again and then when we finally had a little bit of quality, we’ve got to the byline and put a cross in and Nuhiu has got to hit the target with a header.”
