Frederico to start at Burton?

Carlos Carvalhal has selection decisions to make at both ends of the pitch ahead of the trip to Burton on Saturday.

Glenn Loovens has suffered a slight hip problem as as he continues his recovery from a back injury, so Portuguese defender Frederico Venancio could make his Wednesday debut after being given international clearance to play.

This leaves Carvalhal deciding whether to start with the 24-year-old, or to put him on the bench.

Sam Hutchinson has begun running again in training following his knee problem but will not be available, so David Jones is almost certain to start in midfield.

George Boyd and Keiren Westwood are ready to return after being rested for the midweek Carabao Cup defeat at Bolton and Carvalhal has another selection decision to make up front.

Gary Hooper and Stephen Fletcher – also left out at Bolton – could well figure in attack after linking up well at Fulham last weekend, while Jordan Rhodes will also be in the thoughts of the head coach following his return to the starting line-up at Bolton when he scored both of our goals.
