Assistant manager Chris Evans spoke of his delight as Wednesday picked up maximum points over the New Year weekend.
After two early goals gave us a 2-1 win over Tranmere, Evans said: “We are really pleased to get the win and to make it six points ouf of six at the start of the New Year.
“We came out of the blocks early and we had 12 really good chances during the game. ”
Evans said he looks at the chances created as a real positive – even though we only managed to convert two of them.
“You’ve got to be playing well to create that number of chances and the first-half performance was the best we have played since the gaffer came here.
“We had a Premier League crowd here today and that was a Premier League performance in the first half.”
