Carlos Carvalhal took full responsibility for Wednesday’s 4-2 ‘derby day’ defeat at home to Sheff U.
Speaking after a hugely disappointing result and performance, the head coach said: “It is my responsibility because I am the coach and that is the reality.
“Today, I think the story of the game changed because Sheffield United scored very early in the game.
“After this, they had the confidence and we did not play our football, we did not look like Sheffield Wednesday.”
He added: “We got it back to 2-2 and I thought like most people in the stadium that we could go on and win the game. But Sheffield United scored almost immediately and the balance was back in their favour.”
