Carlos Carvalhal believed Wednesday did enough to take all three points after the 1-1 draw at Cardiff.
He felt we coped well with the momentum of Cardiff, under new boss Neil Warnock, and especially coupled with the fact that their last game was on Friday while Wednesday were back in action after playing at Huddersfield on Sunday.
Carvalhal said: “We deserved a win but it is one point in the marathon.”
He added: “We are in a good position and I think we are better than last season.
“We are playing at another level compared to last season, we are progressing, we played here like a big team, we came here to win and to play positive football against very hard opposition and we discovered spaces – a very good team can do this.”
