Carlos Carvalhal says the Wednesday fans can play a big part in our Championship play-off second leg with Huddersfield at Hillsborough on Wednesday evening as we look to clinch a place in the final for the second successive season.
After the first leg 0-0 draw at Huddersfield, Carvalhal talked of the great atmosphere created by the Owls fans at last season’s first leg semi-final with Brighton and said of the Huddersfield return leg at S6: “Now we can go to Hillsborough and play in front of our fans.
“We always play better when we are at home, this cannot be said for all the teams in the Championship, but for us the supporters make a big difference to our players.”
He added: “The crowd in semi finals make a big impact, we have experience of this last season.
“We know how much our supporters helped us to beat Brighton.
“We also know exactly what we felt in our bodies when we went to Brighton, especially in the first 20-25 minutes.
“Today was the same at Huddersfield and credit to the crowd for the way they helped their team a lot.
“Our supporters will be crucial for sure.”
