Steve Bruce is at Lincoln for today’s pre-season friendly.
Bruce, favourite to take over as Newcastle boss in the coming days, was not on the Wednesday team bus but was later pictured on the Sincil Bank pitch talking with the Lincoln coaching team prior to the lunchtime kick off.
The possible departure of the Owls boss now appears to rest on whether Wednesday and Newcastle can agree on a compensation payment.
