50-50 chance of signing before Charlton trip

Stuart Gray is hoping to bring in at least one new loanee to the squad in the near future … and possibly in time for the visit to Charlton.

With Everton cutting short Hallam Hope’s loan spell and Gary Madine moving to Coventry for a month, Gray is keener than ever to bring in some new blood, both in attack and midfield.

He said: “We’re falling a bit short in the final third and are looking to rectify that.

“We’re very close to bringing someone else in. There’s a 50-50 chance of it happening before the Charlton game – if not, by the Bournemouth match.”

He also hinted that such moves could lead to more than one player coming in, a striker and a midfielder to replace long-term injury casualty, Sam Hutchinson.
