Williams departs Hillsborough … Borner ‘to leave for six-figure fee’

First team coach Paul Williams has left Wednesday while central defender Julian Borner also looks set to exit Hillsborough.

Darren Moore has confirmed that Williams, who joined us in March soon after Moore’s appointment, has departed for personal reasons.

The manager said: “It was sad to see him go but we understand it was for personal reasons and we wish Paul and his family really, really well going forward.”

Meanwhile, Borner is reported to be on the verge of joining German club Hannover 96 for a six-figure fee.

The 30-year-old, who has a year left on his contract at Wednesday, has made 70 appearances for the Owls and featured in the recent pre-season friendlies but was left out of the squad at West Brom today.
