Will Carlos make changes for Cardiff trip?

Carlos Carvalhal could be tempted to make a change or two as Wednesday look for their third Championship win in a week at Cardiff on Saturday.

Carvalhal, who will be in charge of the Owls for his 100th league game, spoke after the midweek win over Brentford about players finding it tough to play so many games in a short space of time.

He also revealed that he had told Kieran Lee on Monday that he would not be in the starting line-up against the Bees the following evening, the midfielder having played his first game of the season the previous Saturday following his lengthy lay-off with a hip injury. However, Lee then convinced the head coach that he was fit to face Brentford and promptly played the full 90 minutes.

It remains to be seen if Carvalhal decides to rest Lee from the starting line-up at Cardiff, while Steven Fletcher, Barry Bannan and Ross Wallace have also been nursing knocks.

Three points would consolidate Wednesday’s position in the play-off places and, at the same time, signal our first win at Cardiff in eight attempts.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has not lost a home game against us in 11 matches, our last success coming in a 2-0 win at Notts County in March 1991,
