Wednesday have confirmed that Connor Wickham will be available for the New Year’s Day home game with Blackpool.
There was some confusion over whether Wickham’s loan deal expired before or after the Blackpool game and the striker appeared to be waving farewell to the Wednesday fans at the final whistle at Charlton.
However, the club has today confirmed that Wickham can play against the Tangerines.
Stuart Gray said after the Charlton game that Wednesday were also keen to keep Wickham on an extended loan and Milan Mandaric confirmed today that talks continue, adding that the club is also looking at bringing in other striking options if the Wickham talks fall through.
