Connor Wickham and Roger Johnson will both sit out Wednesday’s FA Cup third round tie at non-league Macclesfield on Saturday.
Wickham’s parent club, Sunderland, do not want him to be cup-tied while Johnson’s loan period from Wolves has now ended and caretaker boss Stuart Gray says that if they can set up a deal to keep the central defender at Hillsborough, it will not be in time for the cup tie.
