We’ve only ourselves to blame says Gray

Stuart Gray said today’s defeat to Charlton was totally self-inflicted after witnessing the Owls throw away an early two-goal lead.

Gray said “two fantastically well-taken goals” inside the first eight minutes showed to the fans that the players’ minds were not on their summer holidays but he was left desperately disappointed after that and admitted he is extremely concerned at the number of goals we have conceded in recent weeks.

The head coach said Wednesday began complicating matters after such a great start, adding: “We have given the opposition possession too easily and then not defended well.”

Gray said our final ball in the second half was disappointing and summed up the display by saying: “Everything was self-inflicted today and they have punished us.”
