Westwood ‘out until April’ after operation

Keiren Westwood is expected to be out until April after having an operation on his groin problem.

Jos Luhukay has confirmed the keeper is likely to be missing for another six weeks  following surgery on the injury last week.

However, the news is tempered by the fact that his deputies – Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson – have performed well in Westwood’s absence.

Tom Lees continues his comeback from injury by planning to play for the full 90 minutes in the under-23s match against Hull at Middlewood Road on Monday afternoon and Almen Abdi is also expected to have a runout for part of the match.

Sam Hutchinson is due to resume training with the squad on Wednesday following his latest injury lay-off.
