Wednesday go into tomorrow’s home clash with Rotherham knowing that victory would take us into joint fourth place in the division one table.
After today’s results, we slipped a position to eighth place as Plymouth moved back into the play-offs with a 1-0 home win over Shrewsbury, while second-placed Wigan bounced back from defeat to us in midweek following success against Charlton.
However, of the other four teams in the play-off spots at start of play, Sunderland, Wycombe and MK Dons were all held to draws while Oxford lost 3-2 at home to Bolton and drop to seventh.
We start the Rotherham game tomorrow on 52 points, one behind Oxford and Plymouth, two adrift of Wycombe and trailing fourth-placed Sunderland by three points.
