Wednesday’s finishing pleases boss

Darren Moore was delighted with Wednesday’s finishing after tonight’s 4-0 Papa John’s Trophy win over Harrogate Town.

He has spoken of the need to find a killer instinct in front of goal in recent weeks and after watching this evening’s performance, Moore said: “I am really pleased with the team in that when we had the opportunity to step forward and the opportunities came up the finishing was very good.

“It’s what we have been wanting from the group so we are really happy tonight.”

The Owls boss added: “It was the perfect night for us. I am really pleased and we kept a clean sheet.

“Ever since the Bolton game, we have got stronger and stronger. The players have got more understanding with it and the formation has made us harder to beat.”

On Joe Wildsmith, who thwarted Harrogate on several occasions, Moore said: “He was spot on. He made a succession of saves. He was really good.”

And the manager said he was also pleased with the display of the youngsters he brought into a much-changed side.
