Wednesday gave Dave Jones just the start he wanted in his first game at Hillsborough with a 4-1 win over Bury on Tuesday evening.
Loanee Michail Antonio put us ahead after just 11 minutes and then three goals in 13 second-half minutes from Gary Madine (51), Antonio again on 58 and Ryan Lowe six minutes later saw the Owls firmly in the driving seat.
Steven Schumacher pulled a goal back for Bury with 18 minutes left and Wednesday suffered a wobbly few minutes before regaining control and running out comfortable winners in front of a crowd of 17,684.
With second-placed Sheff U losing at Walsall, it leaves Wednesday just a point behind them but our city rivals still have a game in hand.
