Owls throw away two-goal lead at Forest

Two goals in the final 13 minutes saw Wednesday’s victory hopes dashed at Fiorest on Tuesday night.

Chris Maguire fired us ahead from the penalty spot on 15 minutes after he had been fouled by Danny Collins.

The Owls continued to look dangerous going forward but it was Forest who levelled matters three minutes before the break when Jamie Mackie headed home.

However, right on half-time Lewis Buxton restored our advantage when he nodded home Maguire’s left-wing corner.

Wednesday again looked the more dangerous side after the restart and increased the lead in the 58th minute with Joe Mattock firing home from the edge of the box.

Leon Best then missed a great chance to make it four when he headed over and the Owls were made to pay for that in a hectic last 15 minutes.

Ex-Owl Marcus Tudgay nodded Forest back into the game after 76 minutes and then Forest saw Collins dismissed for a second yellow after fouling Maguire.

However, the home side were not to be denied and Jamie Paterson fired home a
20-yard free kick three minutes from time to secure a point for Forest.
