Stuart Gray has further bolstered the Wednesday squad with the loan signing of young Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner.
The 21-year-old, who joins us for a month on an emergency loan deal, has progressed through the youth ranks at Villa. He has made 16 first team appearances and has also played five times for the England under-21s but suffered lengthy lay-offs in 2009 and 2012 after suffering a cruciate ligament injury to his right knee.
Gardner, who is the brother of Sunderland’s Craig, is available for Saturday’s FA Cup fifth round home tie with Charlton.
