Wednesday will be talking with Sunderland in the coming days about Saturday’s goal hero Connor Wickham.
The young loan striker broke his duck at S6 to ensure we took the three points back up the M1 and Dave Jones, who is keen to extend Wickham’s time with Wednesday, said afterwards: “I will sit down with the chairman, talk to Martin O’Neill up at Sunderland and see where we go from here.
“Connor is a pleasure to work with, he wants to learn and I’m delighted for the lad that he has got his goal.”
