Wednesday hoping for more tickets after derby clash sellout

Wednesday are hoping they will get the all-clear to free up more seats for next month’s derby clash with Sheff U at Hillsborough.

All tickets for the home sections of the ground have been sold but club officials are now in talks with the local Safety Advisory Group to see if additional seating can be allocated to Owls fans.

Parts of both the North and South stands towards the away end of the ground have been made no-go areas in recent years, particularly for bigger games, and it is likely to be these sections that will be under discussion.

The sellout signs went up for Wednesdayites after we sold 12,500 tickets inside three days of them going on general sale. The game, which is not being televised live, is a 1pm kick off on Sunday February 26.
