Wednesday hit by Lavery injury blow

Caolan Lavery could be out for at least two months after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The young striker went was forced off just before the hour-mark at Doncaster on Sunday and the diagnosis means he is expected to be sidelined until October at the minimum.

It’s a further blow to Wednesday’s limited striking options, with the new Championship campaign fast aproaching, and adds to Stuart Gray’s pre-season injury worries, with Kieran Lee, Lewis Buxton, Jose Semedo, Sam Hutchinson and Keiren Westwood all forced to sit out the action at various times.
