Out-of-contract midfielder Stephen McPhail is again being linked with a reunion with his former boss Dave Jones.
The pair were together at Cardiff and McPhail was said to be interesting Wednesday in last Janaury’s transfer window. Now, with the 33-year-old looking for a new club, Jones is being tipped to sign the player for next season.
McPhail, who also played for Leeds, joined Cardiff after two years at Barnsley but he failed to make a league appearance last season as Cardiff lifted the Championship trophy and is now a free agent.
He is reported as saying he feels he has another two years of playing in his legs and it would be no surprise if Jones was to make a pre-season move for a player he knows well.
