Wednesday will await further checks on Steven Fletcher after he was stretchered off in the second half of the FA Cup win at Brighton.
Fletcher was clearly in much pain, signalling to the bench straightaway that he had a problem in the knee area, after landing awkwardly in a challenge.
Garry Monk confirmed afterwards that an x-ray showed no broken bones but added: “The x-ray has come back clear but we have to check where the swelling and bruising is. We have to be very hopeful it isn’t anything serious but it didn’t look good and we’ll know more when he has further checks.
“The good thing is there is no break or anything like that. If it is a hyper extension than it should be a matter of days .or a week or so but we’ll have to see if there is any damage around the knee.”
