Wednesday aiming for first league victory in seven against Hull

Wednesday look for their first win in seven league games when Steve Bruce’s Hull City come to Hillsborough on Saturday.

A battling 3-3 midweek draw at Burnley ended our run of six successive league defeats and now Dave Jones will be hoping we can build on this with victory over the Tigers.

Lewis Buxton and Kieran Lee continue to recover from injury and could both be in contention for a return to a back four which was once more pulled apart by Burnley … and hat-trick man Charlie Austin.

Skipper Marin Taylor again looked particularly shaky in the middle of defence and Jermaine Johnson was exposed in his unfamiliar right back position. Up front, Jones is likely to stick with the partnership of Chris O’Grady and Jay Bothroyd.

Ex-Owls loanee Alex Buce is expected to miss out through injury for Hull but former Sheff U midfielder Stephen Quinn is likely to be in their starting line-up.
