We never got going says Jones

Dave Jones was left disappointed by what he described as a “flat performance” after the Burnley defeat.

Jones said: “We had a couple of efforts blocked at the start of the second half. If one of those had gone in it might have been different – but they didn’t and we then carried on in the same flat way.

“When things are not going for you then you need to dig in and pressure the opposition but it didn’t happen today.”

He added: “Everybody is down because we had worked hard to get back towards the pack of other clubs.”

Defeat puts us back in the relegation zone, Peterborough going above us on goal difference after their home win over fellow strugglers Barnsley, leaving only the managerless Tykes and Bristol City below us.
