Garry Monk is hoping to seal a loan deal or two in the coming days, with the January transfer window closing in just over a week’s time.
The Owls boss has previously outlined that any possible business in the window would surround bringing in players on loan and he said this week: “The need for it is clear and I am hoping we can get something done as soon as possible.”
He added that the loan market can be a difficult one, with several clubs sometimes competing for the same players, but said the club is working as hard as possible to get one or two deals over the line.
Monk said that the club has also started negotiations with some of the players they wish to offer new contracts to when their current deals expire at the end of the season.
