We must look to ourselves says Luhukay

Jos Luhukay was left disappointed with Wednesday’s performance in the three-goal defeat at QPR.

The Owls boss said: “In possession we were often too poor, we lost the ball too easily and came under pressure. We must look to ourselves tonight.

“Before the international break we were in a fantastic way, this has been a hard week and we must now have mental strength at Birmingham on Saturday.

“We must aim to make it better on Saturday, we must try to find our way back to success. The mood in the changing room is angry and disappointed.”

Luhukay also reflected on a couple of second-half moments that might have changed the course of the game but said Rangers were the better side and deserved the three points.

The Owls boss added: “There are crucial moments in every game and in this one I think there were two.

“Lucas hit the post with a header and little more than a minute later QPR have another goal.

“Then a few minutes later I think we should receive a penalty because Daniel Pudil has a cut down his face that requires the doctor’s help. That play is dangerous in my opinion.

“But let me be clear, we did not lose this game because of a referee decision. We lost because we could not keep the ball well enough, our transitions were not good enough and we were beaten by the better side.”
