‘We lose and win together’ says Carlos

Carlos Carvalhal stood by his players after errors led to the first two goals in the 3-0 FA Cup defeat at Middlesbrough.

The home side took the lead with a free kick, given away by Barry Bannan after he had lost possession, and then keeper Joe Wildsmith saw his attempted clearance rebound off Alvaro Negredo and into the empty net.

However, Carvalhal said: “We lose and win together and do not put responsibility on any one individual player.”

The head coach said he was happy with his players and the way they performed against Premier League opposition and added: “I am unhappy with the score but the circumstances of the game made us lose.

“We blocked the dynamic of Boro very well and they did not have too many chances.”
