Lee Bullen said his much-changed Wednesday side looked rusty early on at Rotherham before going through to the Carabao Cup third round and a home tie with Everton thanks to Atdhe Nuhiu’s late, late winner.
Only Morgan Fox and Jacob Murphy remained in the starting line-up from Saturday’s defeat at Preston, with several players getting their first starting place of the season, and Bullen reflected: “Credit to those lads because they haven’t had a lot of football, they started a little rusty but worked their way into the game. They had a lot to stand up to early doors.
“We got a bit of luck at the end but that’s the game we’re in.”
