We let ourselves down with poor defending says boss

Wednesday’s poor defending left Dave Jones doubly disappointed with our Capital One Cup exit at Rotherham.

The Owls boss made his feelings clear over Jermaine Johnson’s red card but was also upset with the team’s lack of competitive edge from ‘dead ball’ situations.

He said: “We know what kind of team Rotherham are, they play for free kicks, corners and long throws and if you don’t defend the first ball, you defend the second.

“We knew what was coming but we didn’t deal with it and that’s the most disappointing thing because we are better than that.”
