Carlos Carvalhal felt Wednesday deserved the 2-0 win over Huddersfield after a much-improved second-half display.
Carvalhal said we were guilty of failing to press Huddersfield in the first 45 minutes in the way we had planned to do, with wingers Adam Reach and Ross Wallace playing too deep.
He added: “In the second half we started to press better, when we won the ball we started to move it more quickly and this caused problems for Huddersfield.”
Reflecting on the second-half debut of new striker Sam Winnall, Carvalhal said: “Winnall really affected the game, he’s a good player and made a big impact, just like McManaman.”
