Waldock starts loan spell with three points

Young midfielder Liam Waldock played 80 minutes for Gainsborough Trinity tonight after signing on a one-month loan earlier today.

He was in the starting line-up for the home Northern Premier League game against Morpeth Town and helped them to a 2-1 victory.

Waldock, 20, has been on the fringes of the first team squad at S6, including being involved in the pre-season training camp in Wales, and his short-term move to Gainsborough is part of Darren Moore’s desire to give some of the younger players the chance to taste first team football at a senior level.

Former Wednesday youngster Isaac Rice was also in the Gainsborough side after joining them in August, playing in the defence alongside Charlie Jemson, son of ex-Owl Nigel.
