Two more points will seal play-off spot

Two points from our final two league games will be enough to take Wednesday into the play-offs after Saturday’s 2-1 success over Derby at S6.

The win lifts us into fourth place on 78 points, one behind Reading in third and level on points with fifth-placed Huddersfield, who play their game in hand at Wolves on Tuesday evening.

Fulham remain in the final play-off spot and two points behind us, with faltering Leeds now trailing us by five points with just the two matches remaining.

It means we travel to Ipswich next Saturday knowing that a sixth successive win will clinch our play-off spot, before the season’s finale at home to rivals Fulham on May 7, a game which, at this stage, could still decide which of us makes the play-offs.

Reading entertain seemingly doomed Wigan next weekend and complete their league schedule at Burton, Huddersfield are at Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham next Saturday and finish their season at home to Cardiff.

Fulham host neighbours Brentford next Saturday before their trip to face us at Hillsborough while Leeds are at home to Norwich next Saturday and end their season at Wigan.
