Trio eye Hillsborough returns against Cambridge

Lee Gregory, Dominic Iorfa and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are all likely to make a return to a Hillsborough squad for tomorrow’s home game with Cambridge United.

Both Gregory and Dele-Bashiru came back from injury lay-offs as second-half subs in the disappointing defeat at Lincoln last Saturday while Iorfa was also back on the bench after his lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Darren Moore can again be expected to name all three in the 18-man squad against Cambridge – this time in front of the home fans – and may well find a place in the starting place for at least one of them.

That reverse at Lincoln, coupled with the other play-off chasers all winning in midweek while we didn’t play, saw Wednesday slip to eighth place and a point adrift of the top six.

It also means we can ill afford to drop any points against mid-table Cambridge and, with a home game against Accrington on Tuesday evening followed by a trip to lowly Gillingham next Saturday, we really need to be aiming for maximum points from the three games to ensure we keep the pressure on our rivals.
