Trio could return to action against Brum

Lee Bullen hopes Adam Reach will be fit to play at home to Birmingham at Hillsborough on New Year’s Day.

The midfielder limped off early in the game at West Brom on Saturday after pulling up with a hamstring injury.

Caretaker boss Bullen said: “We are hoping there is no strain there. We will have to wrap him up in cotton wool over the next couple of days.

Westwood was rested against West Brom after playing his first two games of the year inside four days while Fletcher dropped to the bench at the Hawthorns.

Bullen said after the West Brom game: “Keiren has played two games in 12 months. He’s 34. He has a few aches and pains. If he had played today, he could have possibly got himself injured. It was a similar decision with Steven Fletcher.”
