Wednesday have sent their condolences to former Owls favourite Jose Semedo following the tragic news of the passing of his wife, Soraia.
Semedo, one of our most popular players of recent years, is now captain of Vitoria Setubal in Portugal and they made the announcement this morning on their website.
In a piece on the Wednesday Twitter feed this afternoon, the club tweeted:
‘Everyone at Sheffield Wednesday sends our heartfelt condolences to Jose Semedo following the tragic passing of his wife, Soraia.
The Wednesday family are with you at this terrible time, Jose’.
Vitoria Setubal said on their website: “To our captain, to all his family and friends, Vitória extends its most heartfelt condolences.
“We share their pain and we extend all our solidarity to them at this particularly difficult time.”
The London Owls would also like to send our sincere sympathies to Jose and his family at such a devastating time.
