Time to end negativity says Carvalhal

Carlos Carvalhal has called on the fans to get behind the team for Saturday’s home clash with Hull.

The head coach says he has been aware of negativity from the stands this season and has urged supporters to back the players as Wednesday look to make it seven games without defeat – albeit after four draws from the last six matches.

Carvahal said: “If we put the negative things on the side and everybody goes with the positive way then we are really strong and our players will be more confident and more strong if everybody goes in this way.

“It is time to finish the negative things around the team and about the club. It can be a good start because we have more than enough time to achieve a good position

“This is a game that I believe we will turn things and will do our best to make our fans happy at the end of the game.”

He said that the squad has been working particularly on our attacking play in training this week and the team is ready to be more attack-minded.

However, when asked why this was not already the case, the head coach said he did not want to talk about such things at this time but would happily do so at the end of the season.

Referring back to the upcoming Hull match, Carvalhal praised the “fantastic fans” and said of Saturday’s game: “Let’s show the power of Sheffield Wednesday and of Hillsborough.”

Hull, relegated from the Premier League last season, go into the match only four points and two places from the relegation zone and with just two wins in their last 14 games.
