Wednesday’s new owners have bought the club to take us back to the Premier League, says Milan Mandaric.
The departing chairman, talking about today’s Thai consortium takeover, said: “They are very creditable people, financially they are very strong and they have a big desire to take this club to the Premier League.”
He added: “These people are not buying the club to keep it in the Championship. They are very happy with where the club is, with the structure and the stability but going forward they have got to move it to the next step and that’s exactly what they will do. Otherwise I wouldn’t sell the club.
“I didn’t sell it because of the price, I didn’t sell it before because I had to leave. I have sold it because these people are more aggressive financially and they will do the job.”
