Test your Wednesday knowledge with new book

If Sheffield Wednesday is earmarked as your specialist Mastermind subject then you’ll love a new book which has just been published … Never Mind the Owls.

It’s dubbed ‘The Ultimate Sheffield Wednesday Quiz Book’ and inside you’ll find 30 rounds of questions covering all aspects of the Owls, from 1867 up to the current day.

The book has been compiled by Wednesdayite Andrew Clark, with a foreword from John Pearson, and even the biggest S6 fans will find themselves tested over many of the questions.

It’s an excellent read – produced in a handy pocket-sized format – and is available from the Owls Megastore, and online, for £6.99 … reduced to £5.59 at present with the shop currently offering 20 per cent discount on all purchases.

And, just to get those blue and white brains working, here is a sample of three questions from the book …

1. Name the first player to win a full international cap for a country outside the British Isles and Ireland while playing for Wednesday. He was a silky midfielder who spent five seasons at Hillsborough in the second half of the 1980s.

2. Only one Swede has ever won the Owls Player of the Year award. Can you name him?

3. Which misfiring forward did ‘Big Ron’ offload to West Brom as part of the deal that saw Carlton Palmer arrive at S6?

Sorry, no prizes, but answers to follow …
