Stuart laments a Gray day at S6

Stuart Gray pointed to three major moments that helped send the points down the M1 to Watford on Saturday.

Gray said: “They say that bad luck comes in threes and I think we saw that today.

“We lost Sam Hutchinson after six minutes and that seemed to affect the whole place for a few minutes.

“Then they scored their first goal which we thought was offside and so too did thousands of others in the ground. But the officials can only give what they see and we didn’t get the decision.

“Then Keiren Westwood makes a very uncharacteristic error for their third goal. He’d taken a nasty knock a few minutes before and I don’t know whether that’s affected him but I’m not going to criticise Keiren because he has been outstanding for us all season.”

Overall, Gray said the final ball and poor crossing let us down in the first half but gave praise to the team for rallying to some degree in the second half.

Referring to another poor display by the officials at Hillsborough, Gray added: “I’m not one for blaming but I just want officials to do their jobs properly.”
