Sending off was pivotal moment says Moore

Darren Moore pointed to Julian Borner’s first-half sending off as being the crucial moment in our 3-0 defeat at Reading this afternoon.

After a second defeat in his two games in charge, Moore said of the red card on the half-hour mark: “Obviously it was a disappointing afternoon. The pivotal part in the game was the sending off.

“On the balance of play up until then we were in the ascendancy in the match but it was a double blow then, to lose the player at that stage and go a goal down to the penalty.”

Moore praised the players for staying in the game until half time and said the aim then was to do likewise in the second half before bringing on one or two more attacking players in the closing stages in a bid to get an equaliser.

He added: “However, we conceded a second goal midway through the half and then the game went away from us.

“Now we’ve got to quickly move onto the next match. We get a week to work in training this week and then another big game against Norwich next Sunday.”
