It has been a story of defensive ins and outs at Hillsborough today … with a forgotten centre back leaving the club on loan and another returning to S6.
Vincent Sasso returns from SC Braga in a permanent deal, having played 19 times for us last season while on a year-long loan.
Sasso, 25, will wear shirt number 39 and believes he will be better equipped for Championship football after last season’s experiences.
He will also add much-needed cover in the heart of the defence, with Wednesday having been exposed at the start of this season following injuries to Tom Lees and Glenn Loovens.
Meanwhile, fellow defender Darryl Lachman has gone on a season-long loan to Dutch club, Willem 11. He has not played for the first team since signing for us in the summer of 2015 and spent the latter part of last season playing for another Dutch side, SC Canbuur
