Reports say Wednesday sold for 50m euros and new man wants Waddle

Reports from France are saying that Hafiz Mammadov has completed his takeover of Wednesday for 50 million euros … and that he has asked Chris Waddle to become the new coach of the Owls.

L’Equipe newspaper says that Azerbaijani businessman Mammadov finalised the deal with Milan Mandaric in London on Sunday evening and that Mandaric is expected to become club president at Hillsborough.

Mammadov already owns French club RC Lens and the suggested connection with Waddle follows his successful playing career in France with Marseille, before signing for the Owls in 1992 and enjoying a great four years with the club.
