Wednesday confirm Luhukay’s exit

Wednesday have confirmed that they have parted company with manager Jos Luhukay by mutual consent.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri said: “I would like to place on record my thanks to Jos for the efforts he has given to Sheffield Wednesday.

“But now is the right time for both parties to move on and I wish him all the very best for the future.”

Coach Lee Bullen will take caretaker charge of the team, starting at home to Preston on Saturday, until a new permanent manager is appointed.

Luhukay had come under increasing pressure in recent weeks, with Wednesday plummeting towards the relegation places after just one win in 10 games.

Steve Bruce is again being linked to the job, with a big contract said to have been offered to the former Villa boss.
